Friday, 13 April

SEE: Thandi Ntuli: Exiled at The Orbit. With themes such as society, spirituality and love - Thandi Ntuli’s second musical offering - expect tingling sensation and smooth jazz compositions all night long at The Orbit. Tickets are available for R150 and students (with valid student cards) pay half price. DO: Perhaps you want something that’s equal parts spooky and playful. If that is the case head on down to Saw Friday 13th Night at Madison Avenue Rivonia. Jason, Freddy, mummy or plain old sexy bunny - dress up in full Halloween attire and head on down to what’s sure to be an epic Friday the 13th party. The party runs from 20:00 to 04:00. The cover charge is R50 before 22:00.

TASTE: Try a bit of everything at Food Truck Fridays at the Design Quarter. Head on down and delight at the amazing array of food being prepared and savour the local craft beers and craft gin. EXPLOREBollywood night at the Weekend Market. Head on over to the Weekend Market and catch a screening of Chennai Express. Get there early so you can browse the wares at the flea market before the show starts. There is also a food court to help you ensure you’ve got enough to snack on during the movie. SEE: Joburg's premium jazz venue The Orbit is turning four

Saturday, 14 April

SEE: Carlos Santana at Ticketpro Dome. Legendary musician and Latin American Jazz icon is coming back to South Africa for another round of concerts. SEE: Defending the Caveman at Parker's Comedy & Jive. Prepare to laugh until it hurts as Tim Plewman gives us a hilarious, alternative account of why men and women are so different. He does this be going back in time - way back - to the time of hunter-gatherers. Tickets are on sale for R150 and can be purchased at computicket. The show starts at 15:00.

DO: Check out the Carmen the Ballet at the Joburg Theatre. Enjoy the ballet as they play with themes including immorality, lawlessness, passion and tragedy. Stars of Joburg Ballet, supported by the full company, bring to life this timeless tale set to Bizet’s music. Tickets are on sale at webtickets for R200 to R475.

TASTE: A selection of Asian-inspired street foods in an authentic recreation of South-East Asian ambience with rock n roll in the background a Saigon Suzy. Try the Wok Fried Calamari- seasoned with pink peppercorns, chilli, lime, mint and coriander. Check out their menu here and head on over to 144 Jan Smuts Avenue, Unit 1 Parkwood Mansions, Parkwood.
