Whether you feel like thinning down to your undies or want to enjoy some quality family time or sway to some smooth jazz - Jozi has your weekend sorted with all of these exciting events!

Friday, 16 March

SEE: Check out the Friday nightlife over at the Friday Nights at Stanley 44 market in Milpark. The market kicks off at 16h00 and runs until 21h00 and you can expect an evening to enjoy fabulous music, amazing new shops, outdoor eating and more.

DO: Get frisky over at the Underwear Masquerade Party at 36 Rogersh Street, Selby, from 18h00 until 06h00 on Saturday, 17 March. There are no pants or jeans allowed (vests and t-shirts are allowed) and entrance costs R80. The dress code is simple, less is more: Underwear/ Boxers/ Briefs/ Speedos/ Bvd/ Costumes. Unleash your inner wild child and watch some performances done in undies, indulge in the food and alcohol on sale and take comfort in the safe 24-hour parking available. There will be lockers available inside for any personal items and you can bring your own mask or body paints or buy inside.

TASTE: Enjoy sundowners over some buzzing indie music at the Indie Take Over - Sundowners event going down at Sundowners (Alberton). The party starts at 19h00 and jams all the way until 02h00 into Saturday, 17 March. No under 18s and no private drinks are allowed and R40 will get you in before 19h00, thereafter R60 will get you in to this Jozi jam fest. 

EXPLORE: Get your jazz on in Jozi at the A Musical A'Fare - Jazz Evening event swinging off at For Goodness Sake in Drift's Boulevard, Muldersdrift. Immerse yourself in good fare, with delicious ice cold cocktails, craft beers and G&T's on sale at the event. Saturday, 17 March

SEE: Grab the family and go to the Family Talkabout event at the Wits Arts Museum in Braamfontein and enjoy a day of family fun. The event focuses on providing a day of family bonding over painting. The event is in celebration of Alfred Thoba’s unique painting technique. Learn new approaches . Free your inner artist. DO: Get active at the Big Walk hosted by and stepping off at Revival City College in Alberton. This family friendly event begins at 08h00 and treks on until 12h00. It is a fun day for the entire family where children, their parents, and little brothers and sisters participate in an obstacle course big walk on the college grounds. Food stalls will be on site as well as jumping castles and other kid friendly activities.

TASTE: Let the Gin Fest beGin over at 011 Dainfern by the Baron in Dainfern Square shopping centre. The fest bubbles into action from 12h00 and runs dry at 23h00. Enjoy a gin filled day with live music and entertainment. 

EXPLORE: Keep your feet moving over at the Alberton SPCA event for Peanut's 6th birthday walk at Gilooly's Farm. The event is in aid of the Alberton and Germiston or Bedfordview SPCAs. R30 entrance for adults which includes a colour bag, R10 entrance per child & dogs enter FREE! Food, cupcakes and drinks will be on sale. There will be various dog competitions and loads of fun things to do.

Sunday, 18 March

SEE: Get your Sunday Jozi jol on at The Living Room located at 20 Kruger Street in the Maboneng Precinct. Immerse yourself into their world of plants, smiles, laughs and dance. Enjoy some sundowners with a loved one, and old friend or someone you just met. Your vibe creates your tribe and they promise to only provide the best! R80 gets you in and the first 30 people get in for FREE! Limited tickets available at the door - book online in advance on Quicket to avoid any disappointment! Tickets & tables are booked here. If tables aren't booked in advance online, they are available on a first come first serve basis on the day.

DO: Unwind and get active with the Walking Meditation event going down at Modderfontein Reserve in Arden Road. It takes place between 07h30 and 09h00 and you can expect a scenic, gentle 4 km walking meditation at Modderfontein Nature Reserve. You will observe gentle silence at times on the walk for quiet contemplation. Attendees are urged to bring at least 1.5 litres of water along. Book your spot here

TASTE: Whet your appetite at the Picnic In Our Park event hosted by and taking place at Ten Bompas Hotel in Dunkeld West. R275pp includes: Fresh breads, gourmet butters, individual salads, mixed board of cheese and cold meats and a dessert - drinks are sold seperately.
