Joburg will keep you on your feet for the weekend of the 8 - 10 September, as you head out and about for a day of fun. Laugh yourself silly at the Parkers Comedy and Jive or attend the Kingsmead Carnival for a performance from Sketchy Bongo.

With the much anticipated Huawei Joburg Day taking place on 9 September and the fourth annual street food festival also taking place - there is no reason to stay at home.

What will you be attending from the 8 -10 September?  

Friday, 8 September 

SEE: Some of the best local comedy live at Parkers Comedy & jive from 18:00 - 24:00. Tickets cost R130 and can be purchased here

DO: Head to the South African book fair- taking place at MuseuMAfricA - a festival dedicated to celebrating local stories and writers. Entrance is FREE. 

TASTE: The delicious flavours paired with the ideal wines at The Waterford restaurants Cape wine experience. Tickets cost R420 and can be purchased here. The event will be held at The Kerzner University of Johannesburg

EXPLORE: The Kingsmead Carnival with a live performance from Sketchy Bongo - there will be an array of delicious food available. Tickets cost R 145 and can be purchased here. The carnival starts at 18:00 - 22:30. It will take place at Kingsmead College.

Saturday, 9 September 

SEE: The best South African music acts at the epic Huawei Joburg day from 09:00 - 21:00. No under 18s are allowed - do bring your picnic baskets along for a fun filled day. Tickets cost R350 - R800 and can be purchased here

DO: Head outdoors for a 5km or 10km  run or walk from the Johannesburg zoo - entrance to the zoo trot is R55 and there are medals to be won. 

TASTE: Delicious deli products at the Field Market open from 10:00 - 15:00. Entrance is FREE.

EXPLORE: The Crafters Market at Cedar Square Shopping Centre - for an array of crafts, food and so much more. Open from 10:00 - 15:00. Entrance is FREE.

Sunday, 10 September 

SEE: Will Rayz music perform live at the Hard Rock Cafe - from 14:00 - 16:00. Entrance is FREE.

DO: Head to Spring time at Sylvia's for the best Sunday market - open from 10:00 - 16:00. It is an outing for the whole family. Entrance is FREE.

TASTE: All things Portuguese - from wine to traditional food. It will be open from 12:00 - 18:00. Ticket prices are R550 per person and can be purchased here.

EXPLORE: The street food festival - for all the authentic South African street food. The festivities include live music and is open from 10:00 - 16:00. Tickets cost R50 and can be purchased here.
