The summer holiday feeling is here and Port Elizabeth has the ideal summer line up for the weekend. Whether you are wanting to check out the hottest party of the month at the Deep Brew Sundaze summer season or spend the weekend sweating it out at the summer boot camp fitness session.

The Black impala is officially opening and Port Elizabeth can welcome fine Afro inspired flavors and music to the shores. Get in the Christmas cheer as you light up some sparkles for charity at the Boardwalk.

The days are longer and with some much to do. Make the most of the weekend from the 17 - 19 November.

Friday, 17 November 

SEE: Over a 100 bonsai trees will be on display at the South African Bonsai Convention - open from 12:00 - 15:00. The convention will run from the 17 - 19 November. Tickets cost R 1600 and include workshops and talks by the best in the business of bonsai's.

DO: Get in the Christmas spirit of giving at the sparkles for change event - held at the Boardwalk from 19:00 - 20:00. Christmas hats and sparkles will be sold at R 20 each while all proceeds go charity.

TASTE: If pizza is what you are looking for head to Angelo's - open from 09:00 - 22:00. 

EXPLORE: Get toned and fit for summer with the Summer Boot camp - from 18:15. It is an 8-week boot camp that takes place three times a week and costs R 1700 per person. It will take place at Move more.

Saturday, 18 November 

SEE: The best potjie made at the Glendore arms potjie masters 2017, a charity potjie competition from 10:00 - 23:00. Entrance is free. 

DO: The Black Impala is officially opening and welcomes a focus on Afro foods - open from 14:00 - 24:00. Tickets to the opening event cost R 120 and include a meal of braai meat and sides. There will be live entertainment and Djs to add to the soulful mood. 

TASTE: Spicy curry and vibrant flavors at Raasoie the kitchen of India - open from 09:00 onward. 

EXPLORE: The outdoors at the down2earth race for charity - it is the fourth annual mountain bike and trail running event for charity. Rgistration costs vary for Mountain bike racing at R 120 - R 190 and trail runs at R 90 - R 130. The event takes place from 08:00 - 14:00.

SEE:Beach please! Summer beach vibes across SA

Sunday, 19 November 

SEE: Steve Newman and other popular local acts perform live at the Music kitchen from 15:30 - 18:00. Tickets cost R 100 per person. 

DO: Head to deep brew Sundaze summer season event - live music on a rooftop while you sit back and listen to some world class jams. Open from 15:00 onward. No under 20s allowed and tickets cost R 100 per person. Purchase tickets here. 

TASTE: Join in our the Supper Club - a pop up restaurant that features local chefs. Tickets cost R 450 per person and includes a three course tasting menu paired with the ideal wines, a gift bag and a welcoming drink. The event is from 16:00 - 19:00 at the Granary.

EXPLORE: Chill out into the Sunday mood at the acoustic Sunday event that is held at Bocadillos. Open from 12:00 - 15:00 with live performances by Ben du Doit. Entrance is free.
