SA Insider: Head out in Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth is starting of the weekend with an exciting event as the Parlotones take PE on, performing live at the Boardwalk. The farmers market stall at Grey High school is a must visit as it is filled with delicious fresh produce for the family. The competition is steaming up as the Bokke take on Argentina - an event that is a must see, up close and personal. 

The talented PHFat and Shortstraw will be hitting the shores of PE as they perform live at the Roof Garden Bar. There is an array of activities and events to head to ranging from live performances to strolling through a fresh produce market.

The town is buzzing with activity for the weekend of the 18 - 20 August 2017 and should be spent out and about on the town. Are you planning to 'paint the town red' in PE? 

Friday, 18 August 

SEE: Vaughan Ceaser perform live at the Boardwalk from 21:00 - 24:00, entrance is FREE. 

DO: Watch the Parlotones perform live at the Boardwalk, tickets cost R 200  and can be purchased here. The show is from 20:00 - 23:00 - listen to a live local band that is making strides in the international music industry.

TASTE: Celebrate DJ Siyesta's birthday and tuck into some delicious food at Finnezz fusion cafe, open from 10:00 - 03:00 19 August. 

EXPLORE: The Grey High Hostel Farmer's market held at Grey High school from 09:30 - 14:00 on 19 August. There will be fresh produce straight off the farm and live music to enjoy, entrance is FREE. It is a day for the whole family as there will also be live performances from members of the high school hostel. 

Saturday, 19 August

SEE: The funny foundation of Grahamstown is heading to PE and shall be performing live at the Music Kitchen - for a night filled with laughter, do head over to the show. Starting from 20:00 - 23:00. Tickets cost R 50 and please do contact the Music Kitchen for bookings. 

DO: Support the Bokke and watch the rugby match of SA vs Argentina - tickets can be purchased here and varying in cost depending on block location ranging from R 75 - R 500. Watch the match live and up-close. The game starts at 17:00.

TASTE: Enjoy delicious street food at the Annual summer street party - held at The Bru Bar from 15;15 onward. There will be food and live music - a perfect excuse to get out on the town. Please click here for ticket information.

EXPLORE: The International Culture Fest in order to explore and embrace the vibrant diversity of Port Elizabeth. It will be held at The Tramways building in Nelson Mandela Bay from 11:00 - 15:00. There will be various activities to get involved in to learn new cultures and food stands to celebrate each culture. Entrance cost R 5 and is free for Nelson Mandela University Students upon proof of student ID.

Sunday, 20 August

SEE: A spectacular new wilderness frontier as you run in the Spur PE Trail Series. Taking place on the Hopewell Conservation Estate, tickets can be purchased here. View beautiful kudu or ostriches on your run - a true wild adventure. 

DO: Have the ultimate 'jam session' with PHFat & Shortstraw live at Roof Garden Bar from 12:00 - 22:00. Tickets cost R   and can be purchased here. This is a live performance not to be missed as critically acclaimed music artists of SA - local is so lekker.

TASTE: Grab some good grub and a cold one at Patidos Pub and Grub.

EXPLORE:  The local goodness at the Farm stall shop at Grassroof - selling organic goods and delicious meals to tickle your taste-buds. Open from 08:00 - 17:00
