It is all about Mandela Day this weekend in Mzansi and there is so much to do in order to do your #67mins for the upcoming Mandela Day on 18 July.  Whether you want to spend the day with the family and enjoy the Christmas cheer head on to Steamworks Christmas in July Party  or the Kramerville Bakery filled with all sorts of sweet Christmas treats to fill your belly. 

Stretch it out for Mandela day on the 15 July at the Nelson Mandela Yoga Day in Braamfontein or build a braai for a children's home on 16 July. Jozi goes French on the 14 July with the Bastille Festival being held at the stables market. Its a fun filled weekend for the whole family!

Friday, 14 July 

SEE: The latest moves being used on the dance floor at Q.ba cafe, this is the best excuse to get out on the dance floor and dance away the stresses of the week, from 19:00 - 02:00. 

DO: Laugh your socks off at Parkers comedy and jive , R130 tickets online and R150 at the door. This is a night not to be missed, opening at 18:00 - 24:00. Purchase tickets here. 

TASTE: The Christmas spirit at The Steamworks Christmas in July Party, decadent Christmas food is on the menu as well as bottomless champagne. Doors open from 18:00 - 02:00, Entrance is FREE but to enjoy the bottomless champagne it is R100. Bookings are advised. 

EXPLORE: All things French at the Bastille Festival, held at the Stables Village market. Picnic baskets, baguettes and fine French wine are the themes of the night. Its an event for the whole family! Entrance is free and be sure to bring your beret and your pets with. Starting from 16:00 - 12:00.

Saturday, 15 July

SEE: DeeVah take the stage at Hard Rock Cafe from 20:00 - 22:00, entrance is free. 

DO: Find your zen and do your part for Mandela Day at the Mandela Day Yoga event held at Constitution Hill. Tickets are R100 and all proceeds will be going to The Art Therapy Centre, please do bring along books, clothes and toys to donate. The class will commence from 09:30 - 10:45. Purchase tickets here. 

TASTE: Mince pies and a good roast at the Christmas in July at the Kramerville Bakery. There will be gluwein, doughnuts and more sweet treats. Christmas carols will be sung and put you in the festive mood. Entrance is free and there are so many goodies to purchase! Open from 15:00 - 19:00.

EXPLORE: Mandela Day fun at the Roodeport Theatre as they are hosting a fun filled day for the whole family in commemoration of Mandela Day on the 18 July. Entrance is free! There will be food stalls, face painting, live music and jumping castles. From 10:00 - 17:00. It will also include motivational talks and free health check ups.

Sunday, 16 July

SEE: White stallions perform a special treat by the South African Lipizzaners , it will be an event that is filled with food, music and more. R120 allows you to sponsor a disabled child to spend the day at the Lipizzaners event. It starts at 10:30 and tickets cost R170, purchase here. 

DO: Do your part this coming Mandela Day at the build and braai event being held at Abraham Kriel Langlaate home for children. Bricks cost R67 and all other proceeds go to the home, spend the day with the children and help them to build a braai for the home. From 09:00 - 16:00.

TASTE: The local flavors of Jozi in Maboneng at the couple of drinks event, marvel at the roof top bars and hot spots while you sip away on a cold one.

EXPLORE: A well renowned theatre producer is bringing us Puss In boots, shown at Gold Reef City with two shows, starting at 11:00 and 16:00. Tickets can be purchased here. Step into the magical land and enjoy this theatre feast! Tickets cost R150 - R260. This is a show not to be missed!
