Durban has a full line up of events happening from the 13 - 15 October, from seeing the world' s best visual journalism at the press photo exhibition to getting actively involved against the struggle to end human slavery at the A21 walk or increase breast cancer awareness at the Shades of pink 5 km walk.

End the weekend off with a family fun day at the Waves House park and enjoy a delicious braai meal or chill out at the Soul Sunday session at Ciao bar while you listen to some good beats. 

Make the most of the weekend from 13 - 15 October. 

Friday, 13 October 

SEE: The world's best visual journalism of 2017 captured at the World Press Photo exhibition at the Durban Art gallery. It is open from 08:30 - 16:00 and entrance is free. 

DO: Head on a spooky tour of the haunted houses in Durban with Mystery ghost bus. Tours operate from 19:00 - 23:30 and booking is essential. Get into the mood of Halloween this October.  

TASTE: Delicious wines from the Boland region at the Wine Auction. It will be held at Glenwood high school and will be from 18:30 - 23:30. Funds that are raised from the auction and event will go towards the Glenwood's 2020 project vision. It cost R 200 per person and includes live entertainment and a light meal. 

EXPLORE: With Diwali around the corner head to the Diwali Shopping Festival from 11:00 onward at Moses madiba stadium . The festival will be running from 6 October - 23 October and there will be great specials on Indian attire and more.

Saturday, 14 October 

SEE: The Sharks take on the Western Province and your chance to see this is at the Locker room, tickets cost R50 per person and can be purchased here

DO: Take part in the A21 walk for freedom as they rally against international slavery and human trafficking. It will start at Suncoast Sundeck and is a day to get involved and make a difference. The event will take place from 07:00 - 11:00.  

TASTE:  The freshest fish in Durban at Jack Salmon Fish house, open from 12:00 - 22:00. 

EXPLORE: Second hand fashion gems at the Clothing Coffee Causes that will take place at Noble Coffee. It is a once off event and is the best chance to grab a bargain. It will start at 14:00 - 17:00. Entrance is free.

Sunday, 15 October 

SEE: Society come together for breast cancer awareness at the Shades of Pink 5km fun run and walk. Tickets can be purchased here cost R 80 per adult and R 60 for kids under 12. The walk will start at Davenport Square.

DO: Find your inner zen at the Rooftop yoga event that is being held at Priority Zone. It will take place from 08:00 onward.

TASTE:  The Shisanyma Family braai with attitude at the Wave house park - there will be a splash area and more. Tickets cost R 120 per person and is a fun day for the whole family.

EXPLORE: Get into the Sunday groove with Sunday soul sundowners volume two - live jazz, funk, afropunk and everything between will be played. The event includes the delicious cocktails of Ciao bar.
