Cape Town – The Mother City is shaking it up in December as you start the weekend off with a live performance from Grassy Spark or get into the Ke’Dezemba feel with the Musgrave Gin and tonic event.

With Christmas around the corner, Cape Town is pulling out all the stops to get you festive ready – make your way to the Pinelands craft and gift fair. Travel back in time to the 60s at the Flower power festival in Muizenberg.

Friday, 8 December

SEE: Grassy Spark performs live at Cafe Roux – from 19:00 – 24:00. Tickets cost R 100 and can be purchased here.

DO: Head to the Lourensford Twilight Market  for sweet treats and local crafts – open from 17:00 – 21:00.  Entrance is free.

TASTE: Enjoy Musgrave Gin and tonics on tap at the Ghilbi Bar – open from 16:00 onward. Tickets cost R and can be purchased here.

EXPLORE: Take part in a Colombian tradition of lighting the first candles of Christmas at the City Bowl Health kitchen. Open from 20:00 – 24:00. There will be live music and more.

Saturday, 9 December

SEE:  The Rudimentals are performing live at the Farmhouse rocks – from 13:30 – 19:30. Tickets cost R 100 per adult and R 20 for kids under 12 – purchase tickets here.

DO: Get your grooviest outfit together for the Muizenberg Festival of flower power – open from 18:00 – 24:00. Tickets cost R 45 and can be purchased here.

TASTE: All the delicious vegan and vegetarian food at the Festive feast bring and braai event. Open from 13:00 – 17:00. It will take place at the Pinelands Athletic club.

Sunday, 10 December

SEE:  Matthew Mole is performing live at Kirstenbosch from 16:00. The summer concert sessions have begun – jive to this talented local artist. Tickets cost R 185 – 280 and can be purchased here.

DO:  Get the kids together and head to the open air screening of Moana – open from 16:00 – 22:00. It will take place at the Kelvin Grove club. Tickets cost R 89 – R 175 per person, purchase tickets here.

TASTE: The best burger and lobsters in town at the Burger and Lobster – now open on Sundays. Open from 11:00 – 23:00.
