Cape Town – Jozi is welcoming the Ke’Dezemba vibes with a stellar line up of events from a Christmas classic under the stars to a Christmas night market.

There is no shortage of festive cheer in Jozi as you head to the Friday night market or get your Christmas shopping done at the Walkhaven Market day. The opening of the Beach – a waterfall park at the Mall of Africa will get you in the mood to splash about in the summer heat.

Friday, 8 December

SEE: A Christmas classic, the Grinch who stole Christmas at the SPCA Movies under the moonlight and Christmas market. It will take place at the Morning Hill Country club from 16:00- 22:00. Tickets cost R 70 per adult, R 30 per canine and R 50 for kids under 12. Purchase tickets here.

DO: Head to the festive Friday night market from 12:00 – 22:00.  There will be delicious food and local crafts on sale. Entrance is free.

TASTE: The flavours of Christmas have made their way to town at the Gourmet Festive Market – open from 10:00. It is taking place at Killarney mall and entrance is free.

EXPLORE: Jam it to the semi-finalist of the AFROPUNK battle of the bands at Carfax Newton. There are 16 bands performing feet-tapping and hip moving music from 19:00 – 02:00.

Saturday, 9 December

 SEE: Local crafts and small businesses in action at the Walkhaven Market day – open from 08:00 – 16:00.  Entrance is free.

DO:  Make a day of the Beach at the Mall of Africa – a waterfall park dedicated to fun and summer. Open from 9 – 23 December. Jump on the water slides and enjoy the paddle boats – opening at 10:00.

TASTE: Grab a boerie roll at the Soweto Family braai and picnic from 09:00 – 17:00. There will be fun activities for the kids – from face painting to horse riding.

EXPLORE: Enjoy the season of giving at the Christmas night market from 16:00 – 22:00. Taking place at the Fourways Market and entrance R 20 per adult and kids under 12 are free.

Sunday, 10 December

SEE:  RNB renowned legends Brandy and Brian Mcknight perform at the Ticketpro Dome – from 20:00 – 23:00.  Tickets cost R 480 – R 1000 and can be purchased here.

DO:  Take part in the Mandela remembrance walk and run. Enjoy a five to 10km walk or run. It will take place from 07:00 – 14:00. Tickets cost R 40 - R 60 and can be purchased here.

TASTE: Spoil yourself to a fine dining experience at Marble Restaurant – open from 12:00 – 22:00.

EXPLORE: Take it easy and make your way to the Sunday vibes at Beerhouse – sip on a cold one while you enjoy the live music. Open from 13:00 onward and entrance is free.
