Cape Town - It's the last weekend of the first school holidays of 2016 and even if the weather is a little glum, don't let that affect your mood or vibe. 

We've lined up the best events and things to do in the Mother City this weekend. 

Whether you're up for some family fun at the Community Chest Carnival, or would like to get dirty scrambling over Atlantis' sand dunes - make this weekend one to remember. 

Here are our favourite weekend events and activities: 

Adrenalin Rush: Head out to the dunes of Atlantis for some extreme quad-biking fun and experience some of the best of the West Coast.

Easy mornings:
Autumn is the perfect time to check out the newly revamped Spa at the Steenberg Farm and you can indulge in a wine-tasting and gourmet lunch afterwards at Bistro1682 afterwards.

Day trip:  
Tap into heritage of the Cape Winelands with the Bottelary Hills Wine Route, home to some of SA’s oldest wine farms Beyerskloof, Goede Hoop, Groenland, Hartenberg, Mooiplaas and Villiera.

For the love of Art:
The Cape Gallery is showcasing a a group exhibition, The Shape of Content, until Saturday, 2 April. Make sure not to miss it!

Jazz it Up: Get swinging with the jazz cats at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. Opt to get into the groove at our 10 hot favourite jazz bars in the city.

Treat the family:
Catch the likes of Jimmy Nevis at the new-look Community Chest Carnival, the annual Harfield Village Carnival is also taking place this Saturday or entertain the younger ones in the Artscape foyer with the Tales of Peter Rabbit.

Join the Kitchen at Maison this Friday 1 April, for their First Friday event and indulge in a carefully curated menu from acclaimed head chef Arno Janse van Rensburg.
