This weekend officially kicks off the week-long school holidays. If you're still needing to put some fun plans in place - check out our family holiday section right here - it's packed with great events and suggestions.

But over and above that - each of SA's key cities are bidding September farewell in stellar Mzansi style with  weekend activities from the 29 September to 1 October.

Get jiggy at the Durban Essence festival or drool at Durban's best burger at Smokin' Joes. If you are wanting to get outdoors head to the laugh a walk on 1 October and do not miss Mi Casa's album launch performance.

Enjoy a Supper club gin pairing evening in Port Elizabeth. Otherwise if you're in Cape Town, go check out the Hermanus Whale Festival starting Friday until Sunday or make your way to Khayelitsha for an epic edition of #F1RSTSUNDAY .

If in Joburg, enjoy your Saturday at The East Rand Spring Festival for what promises to be a weekend of family fun and excitement at Carnival City.

Or check out Gallery MOMO presenting Pluralities of Being, the first solo exhibition in South Africa by renowned American artist Todd Gray.
