Cape Town - It's one of South Africa's most iconic tourist destinations, and rightfully so... Franschhoek is flying the flag for SA on a global scale after being included in Conde Nast Traveler's Best New Hotels in the World Hot List for 2017.
Leeu Estates, an exclusive boutique hotel, winery and wellness spa set among vineyards, gardens and fynbos in the scenic Franschhoek valley, shines among other global iconic destinations in spots like France, Italy and the Maldives.
"For the 21st edition of the Hot List—our picks of the year's top hotel openings," Conde Nast says they picked "75 outstanding winners to represent not just the vanguard of the world, but where travellers are headed next..."
And, it seems, travellers are already heading to South Africa to check into our world-class accommodation...
Having just come off a bumper Easter period which saw more than a 1 million travellers pass through South Africa's ports of entry, new data from Statistics South Africa also show a whopping 3,6% increase in the tourist accommodation industry for February 2017, compared to the same time last year.
