Cape Town - A first of its kind, one of the world's biggest electronic dance music (EDM) festivals is introducing a winter edition.

Tomorrowland Winter – the festival’s new expansion into the French Alps – promises to be “the most magical” of the fantasy-like music festival that boasts elaborate sets, thousands of party-goers from around the world and music by the biggest EDM, Trance and House deejays on the planet.

Tomorrowland is a music festival that usually takes place in Belgium, but in 2019, festival organisers have planned a party like no other in a new surrounding during winter.

The scenic mountains and village of Alpe d’Huez in France will be the base of the inaugural Tomorrowland Winter. It will only be accessible by visitors of Tomorrowland who can choose between a 7-day or 4-day experience.

“Unite with 30 000 people of Tomorrow from all over the world, at an altitude of more than 2 000 metres, guided by the Tomorrowland magic,” says Tomorrowland on its website.

EDM lovers who have always wanted to visit the French Alps can now get both experiences in a single trip and package.

According to the festival, all packages include a Tomorrowland ticket, lodging, and a lift and ski pass. By booking lodging at Alpe d’Huez you may enter Tomorrowland and discover all stages and areas in the mountains and the village with your lift and ski pass.

Michiel Beers, creator and organiser of Tomorrowland says that Alpe d’Huez is the right partner for a winter edition of the festival. “Tomorrowland Winter promises to be very special in all aspects. The stages set up throughout the ski area, including at an altitude of 3 300m, the brand-new mainstage, the line-up - and all this in the fairytale setting of the French Alps,” says Beers.

“This edition of Tomorrowland was created by our own dedicated young team in Antwerp and we will be 100 % in control of its execution. We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate our 15th anniversary with the people of Tomorrow and we just can’t wait to welcome them to this enchanting, winter wonderland,” says Beers.

The main festival will take place between 13-15 March 2019 at the Alpe d’Huez in France.
