Cape Town - A guide at Tenikwa
Wildlife Awareness Centre in Plettenberg Bay was lucky enough to escape
from the jaws of a cheetah after he stepped into its enclosure to feed it.
A visitor at the Centre captured the event saying "When the
male cheetah finished his meat, he walked around the fence and out of nowhere
attacked / bites the guide.” According to the witness “the guide reacted very calm”.
The incident brings the debate around wild animal
interaction into the spotlight - especially with the recent news of two
lions that were poisoned and killed by poachers at Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary, which also highlights how animal sanctuaries are turning into easy target areas for poachers.
