Cape Town - Gauteng has won the bid to host the premier business and tourism trade show, Meetings Africa for the next five years, until 2022.

Gauteng Tourism Authority and the Johannesburg Convention Bureau are the successful bidders for the trade show which will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre annually in February.
Meetings Africa functions to showcase Pan- Africa’s diverse services and products in order to help transform the continent.
Between 2013 and 2017, Meetings Africa has hosted over 7000 visitors - highlighting the potential of African tourism and international business.

“We would like to thank all the bidding tourism authorities for their submissions, and congratulate the province of Gauteng on winning the right to host Africa’s largest business events trade show. We look forward to continuing with our strong partnership with the Gauteng province and once again showcasing the province’s world-class venues and infrastructure for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, and events (MICE),” said Sisa Ntshona, CEO of South African Tourism.
Increasing the number of business events held in Africa would contribute to the continents economic and social development, says Ntshona.
Meetings Africa 2018 is set to take place from 26 -28 February 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre.
